At STAGESOUND, our design team is often trusted with the task of coming up with "the look" for an event. At times we are even asked to help generate and articulate "the theme". One of our fortes is creative collaboration with our clients. Again, we see ourselves as a full-service production house, not simply an equipment and services vendor. We have gathered extensive experience working on exciting and innovative projects over the years. When we work for you, all of our experiences become your tools. If you have an idea, let us help you create a real event! |

Event Planning / Coorination |
As a full-service production house, STAGESOUND is often asked to "produce" an event. Being comfortable with nearly all the aspects of creating a successful show, we can coordinate schedules and logistics, hire vendors, obtain permits, coordinate lodging and transportation, supervise decoration, hire manpower, and provide competent on-site leadership for your event. Our exhaustive attention to detail and extensive use of computer modeling in the planning stages insure that everyone involved is "on the same page" and reduces the need for stressful on-site head scratching. Just tell us what you want done and how we can help. |

Corporate Sound, Lighting & Video |
|
Stage Sound specializes in Corporate Sound, Lighting and Video--unique fields within the staging industry. On the surface, it might seem that concert production and corporate/institutional production are nearly the same. It is true that both require first-rate equipment and an expert staff, but the similarities often end there. In concert work, the goal is usually to entertain. In corporate/institutional production, we must also communicate, motivate, and inspire. The mindset is different. The priorities are different. The personalities are different. Working in this challenging and unforgiving arena requires exceptional attention to detail, technical expertise, and superior people skills. In the last twenty years, we have built our staff and honed our procedures specifically to meet these needs.
From large internationally televised Presidential events to smaller corporate meetings, Stage Sound brings together unique tools and skills to create shows with impact. |
|
As the largest and one of the oldest production companies in the region, STAGESOUND has provided concert sound and lighting for hundreds of top-name artists. We are experienced and comfortable with literally all types of musical performances from Hip Hop to Opera. We know what to expect, and when you hire us, you know what to expect.
A different approach
Our philosophy at STAGESOUND demands that we optimize our set up and gear for each and every event. Most sound and lighting companies have a few "standard rigs" which they send out to do many types of shows. We believe this cookie-cutter approach to production often requires too many compromises. We prefer to treat each event separately. We insist on showing up with the right speakers, elevated the right way to the right height and splayed to cover the right areas with the right control … etc. Our lighting systems arrive prepped, gelled, and optimized for each venue. We pride ourselves on our thoughtful and innovative ways of providing quality production services for a wide range of events without compromise.

Soft Goods / Pipe & Drape |
With our broad selection of backdrops, cycs, and pipe & drape, Stage Sound has the material to "cover" your needs. From creating simple trade show booths to dividing up entire coliseums and ballrooms, we understand how masking, partitioning, and dressing things up can help to create the right look for your event. We stock a wide range of sizes and colors; and for that person who wants a fuchsia wall that has to be exactly 86’ 3-1/2" tall, we can custom order vinyl and fabric material in any size or shade you might require. Unlike many companies who deal exclusively with the display and exhibit markets, we have trussing, motors, and the related rigging to handle the largest projects and our designers are always available to offer CAD renderings of your project and help you to sort through all the details. |

We offer roofing systems in many sizes from several vendors. Our own proprietary roofing system is attractive, cost-effective, and exceptionally strong. The system can hold 224 lighting instruments plus several intelligent fixtures easily. The top trims out at 30’ in the front and 26’ in the rear, covering a 45’ x 40’ stage. Our redundant guying system ensures that the top will stay in place in high winds and provide the maximum safety for those on stage. On one recent ill-fated event, our roof was the only thing still standing when the storm passed. (true story … wish we had thought to take pictures) |

A different philosophy demands different solutions
At STAGE SOUND we have always strived to do things correctly, not just cost-effectively. You can see a good example of this, if you look at our speaker towers in some of these photos. We have spent years developing effective ways to isolate, elevate and correctly array our speakers. We have learned that the careful choice and correct placement of the main speakers are probably the two most important factors in high fidelity sound reinforcement. Top touring professionals have known this for years and go to great lengths and expense to correctly elevate and array their speakers. Although the same laws of physics apply to smaller events as well, many companies simply stack the sound gear up on the stage, point it forward, and cover their ears. Even good gear can sound terrible if the speakers are splayed incorrectly or are too close to the stage. All of our systems have been carefully engineered ahead of time and our technicians are committed to getting it right on sight. Our larger systems use ATM Flyware’s MEGS system, which allows us to vary the distance between speakers, the down angle, and the splay. It is sophisticated, versatile, and, of course, safe. For outdoor shows, we have built custom speaker towers that allow us to fly entire arrays within them, with no sacrifice in fidelity, even in heavy weather. We have custom flying frames which allow us to use several types of lifts to elevate smaller speaker systems safely while assuring that the acoustic performance of the system is not compromised. We have also built proprietary hoists to allow us to elevate and stack speakers in high scaffolding when necessary. When you hire us, you can rest assured that we have done the math.
Safety
When it comes to conventional arena or theatre rigging, we have several experienced riggers on staff with the know-how to get the job done safely. We use horizontal lifelines on all our lighting trusses and roof systems with retractable vertical lifelines for ascent and descent. We were the first production company in the region to embrace the use of OSHA fall protection equipment and practices, and we remain a leader in safety technology. |
